Homemade corndogs? Count me in!

Micah LOVES LOVES LOVES hotdogs.  He's been begging me to get some for him so when we got a coupon in the mail for hotdogs, I bought him some.  I don't know how I decided to make corndogs, but I did and guess what? They were SO good.  So good, in fact, that together we  have knocked out 12 in less than 24 hours.

Adventures of a Pigeon Hunter

We have a balcony.  It's a really nice balcony with lots of storage for the things we don't have room for in the house. There's a bad part about this balcony.  Pigeons love it too.  Pigeons love it so much they poop on it.  Pigeon poop carries diseases. We don't like diseases.

This poor kid doesn't like them either. 

As the man of the family, Micah took it upon himself to protect us from the same disease-carrying pigeon poop the kid above didn't avoid.  How do you do that?  Kill the pigeons, of course.

He started out by going to Big 5 and buying a really big knife that was on sale because that's the logical thing to do.  Then he set up a trap on our porch. He used a crate that I was using to hold all of my music in (thanks, honey) and used a rolled up newspaper to prop one end up.  Then he put Flinger's old hamster food underneath the crate.  It looks like this:

Micah's idea is that the newspaper is so precariously situated that the birds' clumsy bodies will knock it over in their rush to get the food.  Once the bird is caught, we kill it with the knife.  Pretty ingenious, right?

Well, not so much.  The idea was great, but as of today, there is no more food left under the box. The box is still standing.

I guess those clever pigeons win this time. No worries, though. There's another plan in the works.

The World is mine!

So...I got a passport! I am SO excited about this.  Micah said it usually takes 6-8 weeks for it to arrive, but mine got here in 10 days.  Wow. They must have been slow at the passport office.

Micah and I have been talking about going to Mexico for a day trip ever since we got here to Tucson.  Now I can officially go!!

I've never, ever been out of the US.  I've never even been overseas to Hawaii (like my mom and dad right now....jealous) and haven't been to Alaska either.  That's all about to change.

Yesterday I jokingly told Micah we should go to North Dakota for Med School.  He replied with, "Well then we could go to CANADA!"  Suddenly North Dakota sounded really, really great.

See, I've been fascinated with traveling ever since I can remember.  I don't know why because I've never done it and I don't know what it's like.  BUT still I have loved the idea of traveling for a long time.  I want to see EVERYTHING.  Before, not having a passport was really holding me back--and the money.  Now, it's just the money. Darn.  At least I can dream of going to Mexico and Canada, right?

Buckle your seat belts Hannah and Adam.  We're going to Mexico!

Since our camera is lost, pretend like the person in the picture below is me with my US passport. It correctly embodies my emotions about having said passport.

Who ARE you?

I have been asked this question 2 times in the past 24 hours.  Who asked me? Micah.  Apparently he doesn't know his own wife anymore. 

Why, you ask? 

Because #1: I have never taken a Physics class--ever.  Micah, the lover of all things physics, was shocked.  This conversation started when we read about the neutrino that travels faster than the speed of light.  I didn't get what the big deal was. Well apparently when you're going the speed of light, time stops. Wha..??? I know. My thoughts exactly.  My mind was blown. Maybe everybody knows this but me.  Maybe I'm just the only one with that big huge gaping whole in my education where physics was supposed to be.  Maybe.  My mind is still a little bit blown.  If the neutrino can go faster than the speed of light, it travels BACKWARDS in time.  Back to the Future wasn't too far-fetched after all.  Maybe.

Because #2: I have never seen Bambi. I've seen Bambi 2, but not the original.  I know the basic plot, but that's not enough for my husband.  It's almost a crime that I have not seen this movie.  I guess I know what our next date night will be...



In other news, we lost our camera :(  So no pictures for awhile. Sorry.

In other other news, we made LOTS of chocolate chip cookies.  If you want some, come and get some. We'd love some visitors!

ONLY 6 eggs?!?

I made German Pancakes for breakfast today and I mentioned that it took 6 eggs for one pan.  I thought that was kind of a lot of eggs, but Micah exclaimed, "That's it? My mom uses WAY more than that." 

Then I reminded him that we are 2 people, not his family of 9, so I didn't have to make nearly as many. 
He sure makes me laugh sometimes.

Provo Temple Numero 2

This is so cool! I remember SO many stake conferences in this building which will now be a temple!

The first session of conference was fantastic! I can't wait to watch the rest of them.
