Free Knife!!

For my birthday, my newspaper job gave me a $25 gift card to REI. Well today I decided to go to REI and buy me another knife. I wanted one where you touch a button and the blade flips open by itself. I found some but they were more money than I was allowed to spend. I did find a couple of smaller knives that I liked. I spent a good 20 minutes staring at these knives trying to decide which one I wanted. As I was about to make a decision on which knife to get a lady walks up to me and asked me what I was looking for in a knife. I told her what I was looking for and she told me to hold on for a minute. She started to rummage through her purse. I was wondering what she was up to and then she pulls out a knife! To cut me?! To show me?! NO...to GIVE it to me!!!! It is a Benchmade knife. And it flips open. I do have to give a little push with my thumb to have it flip but its close enough for me. Its a $150 knife!! And she just gave it to me. She said that she likes doing random acts of service and this was her act of service for the day. What an awesome lady! Someday when I can actually afford knives that are expensive and nice, I will do the same thing for some poor young person. Here is a picture of what the knife looks like.

Contemplating...

Tonight we discussed buying a mobile home.  Weird.  My grandparents live in one (or did until just recently).

PROS:  nice, clean, safe community with LDS managers who are in our ward
Our own home--no more sharing walls with other people
             A (small) yard
             2+ bedrooms
             Half the rent
We'll OWN a home--I can't wait to own something big
swimming pool, park, basketball courts, and clubhouse
Right near the river where we like to ride our bikes
             not a lot of traffic

CONS:  We'd have to BUY it--we could do it financially, but that's a big commitment-scary
A little further away from work and school
Feels like a senior community despite the children running around
We'd have to pay utilities--at the place we are now we don't have to pay
              Honestly....not much else

A couple in our ward told us about it and I'm excited about it.  I drove down there and it sure it a nice community.    Now all we have to do is get out of our current contract.  Anyone want to rent our apartment?????? :)

Birthday boy!

Micah's birthday was a few weeks ago and it was a blast!   My sister and her family (a total of 8 people!) had slept over the night before his birthday.  They are doing a fun tour of AZ in honor of the 100th birthday!  It was REALLY packed, but SO fun. Every inch of our floor was covered.

Since they slept over, it meant that we had a much more exciting birthday party than we would have had with just us two.  The kids were all so excited and wrote him litte notes and made him cute crafty things.  They even helped with his birthday cake and dinner!

Do you see the fisherman and fish? These guys were on Micah's cake at work and I decided to re-use them.

I got Micah some random things, but the biggest present was this:
We're going to FLY!  How cool is that?  We're going on March 31st. Stayed tuned for an epic blog post.

Overall, Micah's birthday was so fun!  I'm so glad that he was born 25 years ago!  Kudos, mom and dad Price, for making such an awesome, caring, loving, handsome son.

New hoodie

So Micah has this sweater. It's his favorite.  He wears it every. single. day.  At least on the days he works at the newspaper (which used to be every day).  After months and months of getting ink on it, it looks like this:

Seriously, these pictures don't even do the grossness justice.  It needs to go.

Which is why I made him a brand spankin' new hoodie with his new school on it!

It's not done in the picture, but it is now!  I really like how it turnd out.
Too bad Micah still uses his old one because "the one you made me is TOO new"
