I feel so American

I voted for the first time yesterday.  You may ask "Why has it taken you so long, you're already 22!" Well, when I was 18, I had just moved from Arizona to Utah for school and I had no idea how to get a mail in ballot from AZ.  So missed the 2008 elections.  The next 2 years didn't really matter to me. I wasn't a Utah citizen and I wasn't even in Arizona so I didn't feel the need to vote.

Last year, however, I was determined to vote.  I was quite excited about it.  I was a citizen of Utah (I'm so glad that's over) and I wanted my sticker.  You know the one.  It says "I VOTED!"  I wanted one bad.  So I went on down to the library to vote.  Well apparently they had no record of me being a registered voter despite apply almost a year before.  I never had got a card....maybe my info fell through the cracks.  I was pretty distressed about it, actually.  Micah had to comfort me.

This year I KNEW I would vote.  I mean, it's a really important election coming up.  The GOP primaries are the 28th of this month and Micah and I got our mail in ballots last week.  As of yesterday, they are officially in!  It feels great to finally vote! The one downer to mailing in our ballots was the fact that we wouldn't get a sticker. At least, that is what I thought.  I was just about to throw away the superfluous papers sent with our ballot when I saw this:

I voted early in Pima County!

Oh happy day! I wore it for the rest of the night.  At that moment, I was indeed proud to be an American.
